If you think you've got what it takes to be a master Cat5 cable maker then here are the steps you need to take:

  1. Get a camcorder, or a phone with a good quality camera.
  2. Build ONE end of the cable but leave the other end untouched
  3. The cable must be new, clean and untouched. All paired wires must still be paired
  4. The timer must start as soon as the cable jacket is cut.
  5. The camera must stay on the action at all times, no edits or cuts.
  6. Once the cable is made, plug the cable into a network tester.
  7. The time stops when all connection tests are complete and all 8 wires are connected properly
